Welcome to my world! I am Jane Farmer, a current junior at Drake University (go bulldogs!). A born and raised Saint Louisan, I am passionate about everyone trying a Lion’s Choice roast beef sandwich during a Blues game, and arguing about how it’s Bread Co, not Panera. I come from a proud bulldog family, with my parents and sister all being Drake alums. While I was originally stubbornly determined not to follow in their footsteps, I have loved my Drake experience and have completely made it my own. I will graduate in May 2022 with degrees in Marketing and Entrepreneurial Management in the College of Business and Public Administration.
I have always been both creative and analytical, making marketing a clear initial choice. A Consumer Behavior class I took sophomore year helped grow my interest in marketing and understanding a consumer’s wants and needs as it relates to your product.
I added the Entrepreneurial Management major this spring to dive deeper into innovation and grow my business acumen. I’m currently looking to gain experience in Product Development and Product Marketing as I join the Yeti team this summer as a Category Management Intern. I’m thrilled to be working with a strong brand that has an extremely passionate team.
My past professional opportunities have given me experience in social media, supply chain management, event planning and logistics. Through the eyes of The Scout Guide Saint Louis, I have been lucky enough to see firsthand and highlight the talented small-business community that we have in Saint Louis. While I don’t currently have plans to relocate to Saint Louis after graduation, the city’s resilience and personality will always have a place in my heart.
I’m a strong advocate for enjoying the gifts that make life more beautiful. I plan to use my skills in marketing and business development to communicate unique brand stories that make our lives more enjoyable. Art, music, fashion, and travel are important to me and I plan to implement them into my career and personal life in one way or another.
Between daydreams of starting my own curated clothing line, I stay busy at Drake too. I’m currently the VP of Marketing for Drake Alpha Phi. I love getting to tell the stories of so many strong, passionate women. I also serve as a Drake Student Ambassador, meeting and touring prospective students and doing my best to show off this place. As a Peer Mentor for the Donald V. Adams Leadership Institute, I walk first-years through the first of three leadership training programs.
Running on coffee and Spotify, I manage to find time in the midst of all this for a book, a yoga class, and a taco every once in a while.
